Here is a link to a Google video that shows a few Drunken Stylist fight some pretty good karate folks. The drunken stylists pretend to look like they are drunk, and they forget one thing... they are supposed to be drunk! The drunk factor is key in deceiving and creating openings.... this is why it is called "Drunken" boxing... the boxer is truly drunk. Here you see the "drunk" boxers getting their hineys handed back to them and knocked silly... they probably will feel like they are drunk after these bouts...

You see.... part of being drunk is that you are supposedly on adrenaline and more invulnerable to pain. Also, the drunkedness brings in a sense of unpredictability, which is why drunken boxing is so difficult to fight.... cause they are soooo unpredictable. The drunken boxer in the video is extremely easy to fight cause all he is doing is doing some form of drunken dance, but when he fights, he "regains his consciousness" and his moves become very predictable. Like Alex said earlier, maybe he should REALLY get drunk first! |
